Commission House Landscaping: Tryon Palace Historic Sites & Gardens
New Bern, NC
The Commission House was acquired by Tryon Palace Historic Sites and Gardens for offices in the mid 1970s. The program required the redevelopment of the grounds to replicated period landscaping of the late 19th century.  Based upon photographic evidence the fence was recreated. New walkways were designed to define garden areas and a new wall was developed to provide privacy for the neighborhood.  Local craftsmen were contracted for the construction.
